As a child growing up during World War II in Europe, Paul Tameling, the founder of BCTI experienced the trauma coming with war. This trauma gave him the desire to help others who are experiencing pain and abuse in their lives.

BCTI, The Biblical Counseling Training Institute is a ministry helping those who experience the pain of abuse, addiction, loneliness, are afraid, have no hope, are angry, depressed or consider suicide, and experience hurt and brokenness in this world to receive hope, and freedom from all that holds them captive.

In addition, BCTI prepares the next generation of counselors to deal with the brokenness that exists in the world and helps draw people to God with the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.
